Sharjah Theatre Days
The emirate's annual festival of Arab theatre, whose thirty-fifth edition he inaugurated in March 2026. He attends both the opening and the closing, at which the awards are presented.
University occasions
As President of the University of Sharjah and of the American University of Sharjah he presides at academic ceremonies, and lectures in his own field of modern Gulf history.
Site visits and openings
Inspections of construction and restoration work across the emirate — from University City and the Heart of Sharjah district to the newer campuses at Khorfakkan, Kalba and Al Dhaid.
